Terms of Service

Pack the Triad — Reusable moving totes Last updated August 17, 2026

1. The basics

These Terms of Service govern your rental of moving totes, dollies and related equipment from Pack the Triad (“we,” “us,” “our”). By placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you are booking on behalf of someone else, you are responsible for the rental and you confirm you have their permission to share their address and contact details with us.

You must be at least 18 years old to rent from us.

2. Booking

Bookings are confirmed once we accept your order and confirm a delivery date. Availability is limited and dates are not held until confirmed. We may decline or cancel an order if we cannot service your address, if equipment is unavailable, or if the order appears fraudulent.

Service area. We deliver across the Triad and surrounding areas. Both your delivery address and your pickup address should fall within our service area. If either address sits outside it, contact us before booking and we will tell you whether we can accommodate the move.

3. Delivery and pickup

Delivery and pickup are included in every package at no additional charge within our service area. We will agree a delivery date with you and a pickup date at the end of your rental period.

  • You do not need to be present. If you ask us to leave equipment unattended — in a garage, on a porch, or with a leasing office — the equipment becomes your responsibility from the moment it is delivered.
  • Please have equipment emptied, closed and accessible at the agreed pickup point. If our driver cannot access the equipment, or it is not ready, we may charge a return trip fee.
  • We deliver to the ground-floor entrance or an agreed access point. We do not carry equipment up or down stairs, into individual rooms, or into secured areas without prior arrangement.

4. Rental period

The standard rental period is 10 days from the date of delivery. Additional time can be added at booking, or during your rental by contacting us, at our then-current rate.

If equipment is not returned or made available for pickup at the end of your rental period and you have not arranged an extension, we may charge for additional rental time until the equipment is recovered, and after a reasonable period we may treat the equipment as unreturned and charge replacement costs under Section 7.

Finishing early is fine. Contact us and we will schedule pickup sooner. Rental fees are not prorated for early returns.

5. Using the totes

The equipment remains our property at all times. You are renting it, not buying it. You may not sell, sublet, lend outside your household or move, or permanently mark the equipment.

  • Weight limit. Do not load a tote beyond 100 lbs. Do not stack loaded totes more than five high.
  • Dollies. Do not ride dollies, overload them, or take them down stairs.
  • Prohibited contents. Do not use the equipment for hazardous, flammable, explosive, corrosive or perishable materials; live animals; illegal items; or anything that could contaminate the equipment or make it unfit for reuse.
  • No permanent marking. Do not paint, drill, cut, or apply adhesives that cannot be removed cleanly. Do not remove or deface the identification tag on any tote.
  • Movers. You are welcome to have a moving company handle the equipment. The rental remains in your name and you remain responsible for its return and condition.

6. Payment

We do not require a deposit. Payment is taken by card at the time of booking, and your card remains on file for the duration of your rental to cover any charges under these terms.

By booking, you authorize us to charge that card for: your rental package; any additional totes or extended rental time you request; and any replacement or trip charges properly incurred under these terms. We will notify you before charging anything beyond your original order.

Additional totes. Extra totes are available during your rental at our then-current per-tote rate, subject to a minimum order per delivery run. There is no additional delivery charge for bringing them.

Prices are exclusive of applicable sales tax unless stated otherwise.

7. Damage and loss

Our equipment is industrial and built for repeated use. Normal wear is expected and never charged — scuffs, scratches, dirt and general signs of use are our cost, not yours.

Equipment that is not returned, or that is returned damaged beyond further use, is charged at replacement cost:

$20
per tote
$75
per dolly

Equipment returned in a condition that requires more than routine cleaning — for example contaminated by chemicals, paint, pests, mold or odors that cannot be removed — may be charged at replacement cost if it cannot be returned to service, or a cleaning fee if it can.

Each tote carries a unique identification number. On request we will provide a list of which items were delivered and which were returned. Charges under this section apply regardless of who was handling the equipment at the time, including a moving company you hired. If a third party caused the loss, we will provide documentation to support a claim against them, but the charge remains yours.

8. Tote tracking

Each tote carries a tag that lets you record what you packed. Use of this feature is optional and included at no additional cost.

  • Content records you create are associated with a tote for the duration of your rental and are protected by a code you set.
  • Anyone with physical access to a tote and your code can view what you have recorded. Share your code only with people you trust.
  • The feature is provided as a convenience. We do not guarantee it will be available without interruption, and it is not a substitute for your own inventory or for insurance. We are not liable for lost or inaccurate records.
  • Records are deleted after your rental ends. See our Privacy Policy for detail.

9. Gift vouchers

  • Vouchers are sold for a specific package and are redeemed for that package, not for a fixed dollar amount. If our prices change, the voucher still covers the package it names.
  • Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • Vouchers are transferable and are not redeemable for cash except where required by law.
  • The recipient is responsible for redeeming the voucher, booking dates and complying with these terms. Charges arising during their rental — additional totes, extended time, replacement costs — are the recipient's responsibility, not the purchaser's.
  • Redeeming toward a larger package is allowed; the recipient pays the difference.

10. Cancellations and changes

You may change or cancel a booking by contacting us. We ask for as much notice as you can give so we can release the equipment to another customer. Our current cancellation policy, including any notice period and applicable fees, is provided at the time of booking.

We may need to reschedule a delivery or pickup for weather, vehicle issues or other circumstances outside our control. We will contact you as soon as we can and work out an alternative. We are not liable for costs arising from a delayed delivery or pickup.

11. Liability

We do not move, pack or handle your belongings. We deliver empty equipment and collect it again. Packing, loading, transporting and unpacking are entirely your responsibility or that of a mover you hire.

You are responsible for what you put in the totes. We are not liable for damage to, or loss of, the contents of any tote, however caused.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to your rental is limited to the amount you paid us for that rental. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost time, missed closings, or costs of alternative arrangements.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Your insurance. Renter's or homeowner's insurance typically covers your belongings during a move. We recommend confirming your coverage before you pack.

12. Other terms

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you book is the version that applies to your rental.
