Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Everything you might want to know before you book — booking, delivery, damages, the totes and tote tracking.

Getting started

How far in advance should I book?

A week ahead is plenty for most moves, and we can often deliver within 48 hours. Summer weekends and the end of the month book up fastest, so reach out sooner if your date is fixed.

How many totes do I actually need?

Our packages are sized by bedroom count: 20 totes for a studio, 35 for a one or two bedroom, 55 for a three bedroom, and 80 for four or more. If you're between sizes, start lower — extra totes come in bundles of five ($25 for 5, $45 for 10, $70 for 15, $90 for 20, and $110 for 25) and we'll drop them off mid-move at no delivery charge.

What if I need a size that isn't listed?

Tell us what you're moving and we'll build a custom package. That includes larger homes, office relocations, and odd tote counts.

Rental and delivery

How long is the rental?

Ten days from delivery, which is longer than most tote rentals in the area. Need more time? Let us know and we'll extend it.

Can I extend my rental?

Yes. Ten days covers most moves, but if you need longer, extra time is $20 for 3 days, $30 for 5, and $50 for 7. Add it when you book, or text us any time before your pickup date and we'll extend it at the same price.

Is delivery really free?

Yes, both ways, anywhere in our service area. We drop the totes at your door and collect them from your new place when you're unpacked.

What comes with my package?

Your totes, tote dollies sized to the package, and a quick-start card explaining the tags. Every tote arrives clean and ready to pack.

Do I have to be home for delivery or pickup?

No. Plenty of customers have us leave totes in a garage, on a porch, or with a leasing office. Just tell us where when you book.

Can my movers use the totes?

Absolutely, and most movers prefer them — they stack square and load faster than mismatched boxes. Just let your moving company know the totes are rented and need to come back. The rental stays in your name, so you're the one who signs for them and gets them returned.

What if I finish early?

Text us and we'll come get them. There's no benefit to holding totes you're done with, and no penalty for finishing ahead of schedule.

Payment and damages

What if a tote gets damaged?

Normal wear is expected and never charged — these are industrial totes built for hundreds of moves, so scuffs, scratches and dirt are our problem, not yours. A tote that's damaged beyond use or never comes back is billed to your card at $20, the replacement cost of the tote. Every tote has a unique tag, so we can show you exactly which ones didn't come back.

What if a dolly is lost or damaged?

Dollies are built for heavy commercial use, so normal wear is never charged. A dolly that's damaged beyond use or never comes back is billed to your card at $75. Please don't ride them, overload them, or take them down stairs — that's where dollies usually get broken.

What if my movers lose or damage a tote or dolly?

The rental agreement is with you, so missing or damaged totes and dollies are handled the same way no matter who was carrying them — $20 per tote, $75 per dolly. Every tote has a unique tag, so we can tell you exactly which ones didn't come back. If a moving company caused the loss, that documentation is usually what you need to make a claim against their coverage.

The totes

How much can a tote hold?

Up to 100 lbs. The walls are rigid and the lids latch, so nothing sags or caves in when stacked.

Are they really water resistant?

Yes. Rain on moving day, a damp garage, a wet truck bed — none of it soaks through the way cardboard does.

Are the totes cleaned between rentals?

Every tote is sanitized before it goes back out. You get a clean tote every time.

What if I run out of totes mid-move?

Text us and we'll bring more, usually the same week. Extra totes come in bundles for the rest of your rental — $25 for 5, $45 for 10, $70 for 15, $90 for 20, and $110 for 25 — and there's no delivery charge, so you only pay for the totes, not the trip. If you need a lot more, ask about moving up to the next package and paying just the difference.

How high should I stack them?

Five totes high is the safe limit when they're loaded, and that's about all you'll want to lift anyway. Put the heaviest totes on the bottom and lighter ones up top. On a dolly, keep it to four or five so the stack stays stable while you roll.

Do I need tape or labels?

No tape at all — the lids latch shut. Labeling is handled by the tag on each tote, so there's nothing to write on or peel off.

Tote tracking

What is tote tracking?

Every tote has a tag on the side. Tap it with your phone or scan it with your camera and a simple page opens where you can log what's inside by list, photo, or both. Tap it again later to see the contents before you open it.

Do I need to download an app?

No app and no account. The tag opens a web page in your phone's browser.

Can anyone with access to my tote scan and see its contents?

Only if you have your move code. Every tote is locked to a single move code we give you at drop-off — printed on your rental agreement and texted to you. Tapping a tote shows only the tote number and a code prompt; enter the code once and it's remembered on that phone for the whole rental, so every later tap just opens. Anyone who scans without it — a mover, a neighbor, anyone — sees just the tote number and our contact details, never your contents or photos. Share the code with your family or the people helping you move if it's useful, and it stops working the moment your totes are returned.

What if my phone doesn't tap?

Every tag has a scannable QR code or you can manually enter the tote ID. Any phone camera from the last several years will work.

Do I have to use it?

Not at all. It's included in every package at no extra cost, and it's there if you want it. Plenty of people log a few important totes and skip the rest.

Service area

Where do you deliver?

Across the Triad and surrounding areas, including Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, Kernersville, Clemmons, Lewisville, Rural Hall, and King.

What if I'm just outside your area?

Reach out. We often deliver a little farther than the map suggests, especially for larger packages.

Can you deliver to one address and pick up from another?

Yes — that's how most moves work. Give us both addresses when you book.

Do both delivery and pickup need to be within the service area?

Usually yes — both addresses should fall inside our delivery map. If you're moving out of the area, we can still deliver here and arrange pickup from a local address, like a friend's place or your old address before closing. Just tell us the plan when you book and we'll work it out.
